~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN BE DEDUCED USING LOGIC ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SOME WHO CHOOSE TO DEFY IT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anissa was sitting at a table way in the back of the coffee house that was next to the window on her laptop typing away on her blog as she'd done everyday. While girls her age were out shopping and talking about boys, even mingling and making friends, she was one that just refused to do so. Feeling at ease with either reading a good book or writing, both of which were past times that she enjoyed when she had finished all of her homework and was left with all the time in the world to do what she wanted.
Normally, the only person she did hang out with was her friend Spike who was quite the opposite of her but they were still good friends despite that. Though today he couldn't meet her at the coffee house due to being over-swamped with homework that he should've done but procrastinated on it, as he always does. Anissa always scolded him for his laziness but of course, he never listened to her and was off in his own little world. He didn't mind going off socializing with people, she just didn't see the point really. Nothing more than a distraction is what it was.
Maybe that was why her mother thought of her to be boring because she did nothing fun. She was her own person, therefore she had every right to be who she wanted ... right? Anissa just sighed and continued typing away in her blog under the pen name 'Twlight Sparkle'. A cutesy name but at least no one would know who she was in case someone from school read what she typed. The site she used to post her blog was public and didn't have private settings which sucked but least she could type out how her day to day life went. Even if she did practically the same things everyday.
As much as Eli hated to admit it, he knew he had to knuckle down and study, there was simply no way the boy could call his mother and tell her of his recent grades, his head lowered and an audible sigh escaped his lips, ‘She’ll go crazy if she finds out I nearly failed that Chemistry test!’. The teen scratched his head whilst his golden eyes narrowed in frustration. There had to be some place he could study, somewhere quiet.
The dorms had been too loud, in fact, the entire school premises had been far too distracting for Eli, and so, he found himself aimlessly wondering the streets whilst he thought of how he would ever manage to keep any important information in his head. The numbers, the equations, the text, it was like some sort of code his simple brain couldn’t comprehend.
With his backpack flung over one shoulder, heavy with textbooks and notepads, the teen trudged through the street until and seemingly quiet coffee shop caught his attention. Entering the shop, he noticed not only was it quiet, but the perfect place to stock up on a well needed caffeine boost, if anything was to make his brain work, it would be that.
Eli ordered himself a white sugary coffee, normally the boy preferred tea, but since moving to Japan he found their teas were not quite the same as his beloved English ones. Taking a seat at an empty table the teen began to set out his books, and quickly his eyes began to dart over the pages whilst he ferociously chewed on the end of a pencil. It was as if he knew he needed to take notes, but he just wasn’t sure what about. Only a few minutes had ticked by when his frustrations grew, ‘Give up, give up, too hard, aaaarrrrh!’ His brain yelled at him. And suddenly an exclamation rose from his throat.
“TOO DIFFICULT!!” With that, Eli stood and shoved the books across the table in anger. Miraculously not knocking over his drink. However, his book had managed to make contact with a girl’s laptop and instantly he felt bad, she was probably deeply engrossed in something important and he had ruined the calm. Quickly blinking he noticed the few eyes in the shop seemed to be on him and suddenly the boy felt rather embarrassed. Eli sheepishly went about picking up his things, before going over to the book that had hit the girl’s laptop.
“Uh, sorry...” He muttered, unsure of what else he could say to her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN BE DEDUCED USING LOGIC ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SOME WHO CHOOSE TO DEFY IT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anissa had tapped her pencil on the side of her cheek, multi-tasking by writing and typing at the same time as she always did. This kept her busy as well as her mind off of things, not that she had a whole lot to worry about considering she made it a point to not involve herself around the senseless drama that was the teenage life of giggly judgmental girls and hormonal teenage boys. Now her family was a different story as she made it a point to check on them when she had the time to do so. Between school and work, Anissa was quite busy and it was rare when she got some free time to herself and she used it wisely. Sometimes she hung out by herself, then other times she hung out with Spike. When he wasn't gabbing about some cute girl he saw that attended her school but was too shy to ask her out.
Not that he would get in trouble for doing so as plenty of students from both of the shine academies dated one another. Not like it was some rule made that they couldn't. If there was, that would be dumb. Oh well, not as if it phased her considering she wasn't interested in that kind of stuff. A lot of her classmates had commented on how pretty she was and could easily get a boyfriend if she wanted one but Anissa didn't want one. And she surely wasn't about to date a girl because she was seriously NOT a lesbian. That might be something other girls were for but not her. Snapped out of her thoughts for the moment by the jingling of the coffee house bell above the door, her eyes scanned the new person that'd walked in, a young boy that was more than likely around her age if not older.
Only for a moment she stared, then went back to doing what she was doing. He was probably coming in to study just like a lot of students did when they weren't able to get the peace and quiet they needed to be able to study in their dorm rooms. Thankfully, Anissa didn't have that problem. She just wasn't in the mood to have her mother barge into her room wondering if she had a boy in there when she already knew the only boy that'd been invited into her room was Spike and no one else. And anytime he'd come over it was always clean as she couldn't absolutely stand clutter. It would drive her completely crazy if things were not in order. Of course, even if they were, she still wasn't able to find anything and had her friend find it for her. That's how it'd always have been and the only thing she was OCD about which was a common thing for her.
Flipping to a clean page in her book, she'd began writing down a few things that she wanted to do later when she got home. All the while, she was typing with her other hand on her blog, which she was always finished with. She was down to the last paragraph. As she hit the enter button on her laptop, a book had hit the machine and closed it on her unexpectedly. This had made her eye twitch as she hated being interrupted while in the middle of doing something. And on top of that, where the heck did a flying book come from out of no where. Turns out, it'd belonged to the boy that'd walked in. He'd made his way to her table and apologize but Anissa's left eye began to twitch in annoyance. Sighing she picked up the book and handed it to him. "Next time you wanna get mad at your homework, do it elsewhere," she surprisingly mustered up a reply.

It was pretty obvious to anyone that Eli had managed to irk the girl, maybe more than irk implied by the twitch of her eye. He instantly tensed up noticing her frustration and realising his mistake mentally cursed himself, why couldn’t he just control his frustrations like a normal person?! Sighing to himself he thanked the girl as she handed him back the thick textbook. He was aware that this was the perfect place for people like her to get away from people like him, and made a mental note to himself to avoid this place in the future.
Looking around, it seemed to other people had already forgotten his outburst and were back into their own worlds, sipping their coffee, chatting to their friends and reading newspapers. Basically doing anything but looking at the crazy guy.
Turning his gaze away from the others and back to the girl it was even more obvious in her tone that she was annoyed, looking up he shuffled uncomfortably on his feet, unsure of how to rectify the situation. His eyes then darted to the laptop, hoping he hadn’t damaged it at all, he didn’t need any hefty repair bills to pay.
“Believe me if there was some place that made ‘this’ stuff less frustrating I’d be there.” He replied, pointing to the large textbook that had previously been projected from his table to the side of her laptop. “Anyway, I hope I didn’t mess up your work or stuff or yeah.” He trailed off, feeling uncomfortable as always talking to a new person, especially a new person he had probably annoyed; it wasn’t exactly the best first impression to give. He also realised his answer may have been a bit curt, and then it was even more apparent why he struggled to make friends here. Realising it was probably hopeless trying to rectify the situation he slumped into the table he’d been in next to hers and proceeded to swig his coffee with gusto, before realising how hot it was. “Ah!”
Eli quickly clapped a hand over his mouth, realising that people were trying to concentrate and that he needed to shut up and stop annoying people turning to the girl again, he gave her another apologetic look.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN BE DEDUCED USING LOGIC ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SOME WHO CHOOSE TO DEFY IT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No words could justify how irritated she was right now. There was no point in yelling as it'd serve no purpose other than creating an unnecessary disturbance for the people already in the coffee shoppe who were also enjoying a little peace and quiet themselves but were having a hard time getting it with this boy who seemed to just make noise despite not trying to. Instead of acknowledging her further, she moved her left hand in a shooing like motion, indicating for him to go away now that he'd had his text book back and she returned to finishing up her blog post once she'd lifted up the lid to her laptop and had to wait for it to come off of hibernate just so she could start back working on it.
Luckily, her work would always be saved so long as it wasn't shut down completely, it was just the idea that the young boy was being quite rude. If his work was frustrating him that bad that he didn't understand it, he needed to get him a tutor. Simple as that. It would solve all of his problems and people around him could retain some peace and quiet. He was going to make this shoppe a place she couldn't come back to anymore if he was going to be a regular. He couldn't even go back to the table he was sitting at without making any noise. Stupidly, he'd drank a fresh cup of hot coffee to which case Anissa just sigh and shook her head at him.
"Smart," she replied allowed, resting her chin on the back of her right hand and typing on her laptop with her left.
“Smart”
His head quickly spun back around to her equally curt response and his eyes narrowed, the apologetic look on his face had vanished now, and the boy simply resigned himself to the fact that he had a difficult enough time making friends with people who were normal and outgoing, there was no way he’d be able to make any sort of connection with a girl like her. She definitely seemed like someone who was introverted and kept to herself; someone who would probably never engage in any form of conversation with someone like Eli, any to expect some sort of courtesy was definitely out of the question wasn’t it? Especially after his outburst...
His tongue skimmed the roof of his mouth and feeling the slight sting; Eli concluded that coffee had definitely been far too hot to drink, and tentatively he blew some of the steam rising from the mug. He gently placed the mug back down and opened the thick chemistry textbook that had recently been used for his projectile stress relief. As the book thudded on the table he glanced around once more, very aware of any sounds he made; silly really when there were plenty of other sounds around to drown out his own, the chatter of staff and customers, the hum of the coffee machines and the fuzzy sound of steam frothing up milk for the lattes and cappuccinos.
His golden eyes wondered over the pages and he quickly took out a notebook, jotting down bits he figured may be important. Unfortunately Eli struggled with being able to fish out the key sentences from blocks of text, and when that text involved a lot of foreign looking diagrams it just made the job more difficult. His pencil scribbled away and after a while the boy checked his watch. ‘Really? I’ve only been studying for five minutes?! It feels longer..’
Already bored of the book’s contents and his own company he looked back up the that girl again, he figured by talking to her he’d only annoy her more, but at the same time, he figured the chances of bumping into her again were pretty low since he went to an the boys academy, so perhaps he could at least try and lighten the mood, and try not to come across as rude.
“Look, I really am sorry, I hope I didn’t mess up your work, or, whatever it is you’re doing..” Mentally he pondered whether that was rude or not, and whether she would just huff or actually open up about what she was doing and perhaps engage him in a short conversation of pleasantries, he really wasn’t sure anymore. Eli had misjudged people and situations so much on his arrival in this country a year ago. He glanced back at his coffee eyeing it suspiciously as if trying to decipher whether it was a safe drinking temperature or not.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN BE DEDUCED USING LOGIC ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SOME WHO CHOOSE TO DEFY IT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You're annoying, so stop apologizing." Anissa's eyes never left her laptop. This was getting old real fast. Aside from all the usual coffee shoppe noises that she could easily tune out, this guy sitting next to her she could not. It's like he was making every effort in the book to try and strike up some meaningless conversation about nothing she was interested in. Right about now, she wished Spike was here as she would rather converse with him than some strange boy making a fuss.
Closing out the tab in her browser she was using to work on her blog, she lowered her laptop lid, done with her blog post for the day. She picked up the lightweight machine and shoved it back into her bag. At the same time, she pulled out a book on the occult, opening it to the last page she had it bookmarked on. This sort of thing intrigued her more than it did the other girls around her who believed such things to be odd and scary. But not to Anissa. If you know what you're doing, then the stuff in the book could actually work. Some of it was spiritual healing, something she wanted to get into as it seemed quite relaxing, something she wished she could do right now but not having much luck on that part.
She finished the page she was reading and flipped to the next one, ignoring the boy at the adjacent table from her own. She was educating her mind doing something that she enjoyed. Educating his mind was something that he needed to do instead of consistently apologizing to her.

Hearing her swift reply it was still evident by the girl’s tone of voice that she was sick of the sound of him, her words practically dripping with irritation. His eyes narrowed and Eli silently huffed to himself, his shoulders dropped from their tense position from when he had tried his upmost to make an awkward, but nonetheless sincere apology. Unfortunately it was not well received and for Eli that was it, he was not the type to have patience. Normally his patience would go a little further with people than it would his studies; but it was obvious in this situation it was getting him nowhere, even someone as dim-witted as Eli knew that.
The girl was already engrossed in some book, paying no attention to his attempts to be nice. He didn’t understand how she could sit there reading and not be bored, for Eli, reading text was possibly one of the most mind-numbing experiences on the planet, he’d much rather be doing something than reading out doing something.
With this thought in his mind it was clear being sat here in the coffee shop was getting him nowhere, his inner self knew just as much as he did that he’d never really be able to concentrate on his studies. ‘Just wing it! Maybe the test will be multiple choice, easy!’ inner Eli hissed. The boy shut his eyes and clamped his hands over his ears, of course, this was stupid; the voice was coming from inside his head. Soon Eli wondered if other people had conversations with themselves the way he did. “Shut up, it’s not gonna be multiple choice, pfft!”
He quickly realised he spoke to himself out loud, but the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop would be more than enough for no-one to have that noticed, he hoped. He turned his gaze back to the book but his inner self was right, this was hopeless, all he was achieving was making record time on pencil-chewing.
((Sorry for not giving much to work with, I drew a blank XD))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN BE DEDUCED USING LOGIC ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SOME WHO CHOOSE TO DEFY IT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anissa, at best, continued to tune out the noises around her while she read her book. A lot of girls found her interest in magic and anything else occult related was weird but like always, she never paid any attention to them. She had her interests while they had theirs. So she found magic a little interesting. There was nothing wrong with believing that some things such as this could in fact exist. If it did, it would be very cool. At least to Anissa anyway, probably not so much to anyone else unless they too were interested in reading up on magic, healing remedies and all that jazz.
Flipping to the next page, she came upon the next chapter of the book that covered the different types of elemental spells and explaining the best time to try and cast one. It sounded silly but it was cool all the same. "It'd be so nice to be able to do some of this stuff in here," Anissa spoke softly to herself, finishing reading up the first page to the new chapter before flipping to the next one, not eve realizing that the boy at the adjacent table was talking to himself as well but more focused on trying to attempt to do his homework.
